Really, he purposly left Kagome in her time because he knew he wasn't the only one important to her. He let Kagome go. That was not selfish at all. That was a good ending, sad but good. Then Kagome says how she wants Inuyasha and she gets it. Wow...that was selfish and she was rewarded for it. Wasn't that what so many people hated about Kikyou, being selfish?

But no, I bet you'll all forget that and let the Mary Sue get away with it like they always do. they can do selfish things and be rewarded and praised for it by fans.  Confused

It just cancels out the sacrifice Inuyasha made. It ruined the emotional momment and great character growth and heart Inuyasha showed.

Is it safe to say you're just really pissed off about Inuyasha and Kikyou never getting together?

Inuyasha made a decision FOR Kagome. You don't find that also a little selfish? He just automatically determined that she would be happier without him, without consulting her about what she should do, or how she should spend her future. If you ask me, this isn't black and white. They both made sacrifices, and for pure and selfish reasons.

OK...how is sacrificing your own wanting to be with someone to make them happy selfish?

I just explained that.

Besides, who cares if Inuyasha is selfless and Kagome is selfish? I certainly don't, given that I think selfishness is actually quite a healthy exercise. In other words; you're complaining to the wrong person, VRap.

I know he made the decision for Kagome....so it benefited her but it didn't benefit him at all so I think it isn't selfish.

I'm not trying to argue with you. I just don't understand why you think that.

I was actually hoping for a bitterweet ending. I was so expecting Inuyasha to DIE at the fucking end or something, and Kagome would go to his grave or whatnot to remember the tough SOB he was.

Turns out, we didn't get that. Instead, we get some pseudo Hollywood happy style ending that most American fanbois and fangirls would kill themselves for.

Gods, Rumiko. Just what the heck happened?! What happened to all the good dark drama you souped up at the beginning?! Now, it just seems another Hollywood movie. As bad as the horrid ending of T3. Ugh.

As SKYNET would say, "Irrelavent"

I never knew Skynet said anything. I just thought they sent Terminators to kill.

Technically, the "time travel" was a last resort to save itself. SKYNET is a paranoid computer AI (it got self-aware and started to own the place) and Michael Beihn's character in "The Terminator" specficially stated SKYNET "had no choice". So...SKYNET doesn't say anything physically, but it is a communiating machine. An absolute paranoid one, but a smart AI nevertheless.

The third movie was absolute CRAP. I mean, srsly. The Resistance armed with M4s and MP5s?! Little bullets propeled at high speed do NOTHING to over a ton of walking metal trying to kill you in the most sadistic way possible. And the T-800 units...shooting at nothing. Don't even get me started on the laser sound effects.

Come to think of it, let's start a Terminator topic in the "Off topic" section.

And just WHY is the series have SSSOOO many time paradoxes?! SRSLY.
