You hear a lot of talk on the internet concerning whether or not the anime could or would come back after Takahashi has finished the manga. What do you think?

Personally, I'm torn. I'm sure there are tons of reasons to bring it back and finish it off the way the manga is going to be, but at the same time there's too much of it, and how much money can you really spend animating all those chapters?

Takahashi won't pass up the money and companies won't pass up the ratings. It'll come back eventually, and may even last after the manga ends (have a whole new story/villian/etc)....kinda like Pokemon; the show will always come back/restart in some other alternate universe/setting.

The show is way less popular than Pokemon though. I doubt it'll go that far....

really? I had two japanese foreign exchange students at my highschool and of course....instead of asking about something important about the country or culture....they got asked what were the favorite animes in Japan. The answers they gave were Inuyasha, naruto and One Peice (this was before Bleach got really popular)

Naruto would be a given in my opinion, but Inuyasha has since lost much of its popularity. I would be more willing to compare it to Naruto Shippuuden than Pokemon; Inuyasha would be more likely to develop an older/wiser show put sometime in the future after the end of the manga.

well...according to the "other site" in an interview the answer is a definate yes but they don't have a definate date for restarting it. Seems they are worried of catching up to it again.

An interview with whom? I'm curious to know, if you have the info.

I wouldn't be crazy enough to animate the rest of this manga, but maybe I'm just not adventurous.

This is a recent post by URD-Chan from Adinuyasha...she knows people inside the business and is capable of getting answers.

......

It's actually been mentioned a number of times since I returned from
Animazement back at the end of May. Two of the guests at the
convention were YTV-Japan producer, Michihiko Suwa (typically just
referred to as Suwa) and Satsuki Yukino (Kagome's seiyuu). I was
fortunate enough to not only get their autographs and to attend the
Inuyasha "industry" panel (with Suwa, Yukino-san, and Toshi, who
produced the dub for Viz), but to get a few minutes to meet and talk
with them.

Suwa is a very friendly and outgoing gentleman (not at all bad looking
either, hehehe). His English abilities aren't the strongest, but he
was able to hold a short conversation after the autograph session.
Naturally, the first thing I asked was about the completion of the
Inuyasha anime. You can sum up his response in two words. "Yes" and
"later". A little while later, at the panel, the question was asked
again. This time, Toshi acted as translator so that Suwa was able to
answer in Japanese. His response at the panel was a big more vague,
but he did say that they were watching to see where the manga went.

I think it's a safe assumption that Sunrise and YTV-Japan have been
trying to avoid having the anime catch up with the manga for a second
time. So, they have held off resuming the anime until the manga
either ends, or is close enough to the end that they won't have that
problem. Well, seeing that we are definitely nearing the end, I would
assume that something will be formally annouced in the near future.

As with anything, until they actually make a formal annoucement,
nothing is set in stone. So much will depend on the Japanese
television market, and with the long hiatus Inuyasha has already had
(three years), the audience may have lost interest. It's a fact that
anime in general (and manga, for that matter) just isn't getting the
numbers of viewers it did at one time over in Japan. So, any final
decision on when and how they will release additional Inuyasha
episodes will depend on how they think the series will fare best.

I have been following the translations of Suwa's blog as they're
posted over on the Inuyasha Information from Japan website
(http://www.inu-yasha.org/blog/index.php?catid=3&blogid=1) and have
found more than a few hints and rumors about the possibility of
further animation, even as far back as early March 2, 2005, when he
wrote this:

"This trip made us reaffirm InuYasha team's good teamwork. In the
future, favoring the manga series, we want to tie it up to anime
development. Because in addition that InuYasha team's members are all
as burning as ever, the wonderful magna story has been in progress."

Yeah, that was 2-1/2 years ago, after the original series and movies
had already been finished.

Yeah, she's talked about her conversation with Suwa before, and my guess is that he knows better than anybody.

It's pretty much sure that it will be animated...the question is in what format, television or OAV. I would prefer OAV because I could buy it sooner, but television would probably be better for sales.
