I was perusing through young adult literature to buy a copy of Sabriel for a Christmas gift for my Hindu friend.  (yeah, I know it sounds weird, but his fiancee is a South African white girl who's a Christian...so we have Tandoori chicken and freakin' hot spicy rice for Christmas at his house) Laughing  Laughing  Laughing

Anyhoo....I saw this duology about Dragons...called the Saint of Dragons by Jason Hightman, and the sequel was called Samurai.  It looked really cool, but I don't know anything about it.  I think I'll give it a chance after I finish The Subtle Knife and the Amber Spyglass.  You guys heard about it perchance?

Not really. I haven't been in the young adult section in a long time, so I was unlikely to have come across it.

Well, dragons are thought to be extinct from the world, but in fact they are extremely evil and very much alive, but they have hidden themselves in things like organized crime and the like...as in, they're responsible for most of the world's crime.

A high-school boy discovers that he's the last in line of the ancient dragon hunters, and has to go on his quest to save the world.

Apparently, there's one dragon who is won over by the boy's kind heart (or something like that) and becomes good.

The sequel looks like its about the boy and the good dragon going to fight the dragons in charge of the yakuza.

Hightman is a screenplay writer from Los Angeles, so I have a feeling that this might make it to the movies if it gets popular enough.
