And I was enjoying their foreign shows. One of them was Ninja Warrior where they put on several Japanese game show things that usually bend the limits of the human body with a large array of obstacle courses. This particular competition today was called Sasuke. I nearly busted a gut. The nexty one I saw was called Kunoichi, both could be counted at Naruto references, when you think about it that is.
Next I was watching their daily news thing called Attack of the Show(hilarious show, might I add) and they were having a brief section on comics and soon enough they were talking about Death Note.
Also, the movie Speed Racer, is based off an old anime. Odd hmmm?
On Nick, ever seen the Fairly Oddparents Channel Chasers movie? Maho Mushi and their version of Speed Racer or both based on and slightly making fun of anime.
Either I'm going crazy, or anime is taking over American television. Sooner or later there's gonna be an animated guest on Oprah, and I'll be in that audience. XD _________________ Whoever said all good things in life are free, never visited a gourmet chocolate store.
Speed Racer was ALWAYS an anime. The original series was japanese. The media would just refuse to admit that and made it seem American. US and Japan relations at the time weren't that good.
But a lot of our classic shows were anime as well, such as Transformers. And the Lion King is based off a 1950's anime movie called Kimba.
But it also works the other way around too. The witchblade anime is based off an American comic. _________________
I know, my point is that now they're coming out with the new movie(it's very... colorful might I add. XD) for it so I just find it odd. Transformers is yet another good example.
I just find it odd that I find anime in places I wouldn't expect. Adult swim, 4Kids, WB kids(or whatever it's called now), etc, are expected, these other areas just make me gawk.
Even Nick made their somewhat imitation anime. My brother says anime is dorky and not that popular in America. I'll be laughing in a few years when he's wrong...
Well it would be weird to be watching that animated guest on Oprah, look over at my brother, and break out laughing, but you see my point. _________________ Whoever said all good things in life are free, never visited a gourmet chocolate store.
True, true, very true. It's just most of the kids at his school very much dislike and her doesn't get out of state too much, or otherwise finding other people out of around here's tastes.
At least from the info I've gathered on him anyway. _________________ Whoever said all good things in life are free, never visited a gourmet chocolate store.
