Shoulder to Shoulder?I mentioned in the current manga chapter thread that I saw a connection between Kikyou's fatal wound in the shoulder at the beginning of the series and Naraku's situation with the jewel now. Given the role Naraku's heart plays in the whole scheme of things, he might end up with an arrow through it like Inuyasha once did as well, just like he's getting to know what he did to Kikyou is like.
Yes, I know I'm reading too much into it, but that is the point of this section, isn't it?
Thoughts?

Knowing Naraku though...he'll likly somehow turn it around and get ultimate power from Kohaku's attack. Though I do see the parallel that RT is likly going for.
Unless Kikyou bursts out of his shoulder or something that is.
But all this comparing Kikyou to Naraku is kind of odd to me. It's like she's hinting at something.

What's "something"?
I'm drawing the parallel from a purely ironic standpoint. It's just ironic that Naraku should get a similar wound. If an arrow to the heart killed him, that would be the ultimate ironic, but I wouldn't be entirely happy with it, considering I would rather have Inuyasha kill Naraku....

This isn't Inuyasha's story though. Kagome IS teh main character of this manga despite Inu's name being there. So she'll likly get the final blow.
If there is a happy ending it'll be happy in for Kagome. If there is a sad ending it will be sad for Kagome. It's all in her perspective.
though I would love to see kagome reverse what naraku did and have Inu and Kikyou together again.

But they deserve eachother. They got torn away from love and now Kikyou gets replaced. She deserves to have what was taken away from her.Kagome still has Inu's reincarnation in her time to have.

I don't really think Kikyou cared about that. I mean, sure, she tried to drag Inuyasha to hell with her in the beginning, but that was because she wanted to make him suffer for betraying her, which it turned out that he DIDN'T do.
I think she was just satisfied in knowing that Inuyasha wasn't the one who betrayed her, and that he would be able to kill off Naraku.
And I mean, come on, there are tons of people who "deserve" each other, but they could never get together. It's a sad fact of life.

1) She changed her whole"drag to hell" philosophy after she found out the truth
2) no real counter point for the rest but I hate just answering to one sentence of a post so I had to have a 2.

Nice.
Anyhow, that's what I said. She learned the truth, so she went after Naraku instead, and occasionally employed Inuyasha's help. It's not as if she were confessing her undying love for him at all during the series. She's over the whole "living" thing, and I think that includes the whole "loving" thing too.

well...considering the hug/kiss and speach at the end...I'd say she still loved him but she planned on getting with Inu afterkilling Naraku.

But how do you KNOW? I mean, I know many instances where one person loves another and they don't necessarily still want to be with them. Inuyasha and Kikyou were each others' first loves. They'll always love each other, right? But at some point you have to say, "you know, we've both moved on, and it's not going to work."
