I mean teh epic battle is here but....I don't feel epicness....I feel :about damn time."
Should Naraku have been destroyed a while ago and have a different villian come in as the main one? I personally think that when him and Kikyou go into the other realm....that's the end of naraku. Then we start up a whole new plot.
Think like Yugi-oh....granted the deus ex machine needs to really be destroyed in that series (card out of nowhere syndrome) but they didn't have the same villian for so damn long. They had Kaiba, then Pegasus, then Marik, Dice, Bakura, etc. One plot lasted a while but not drawn out; then another would take it's place. It felt fresh IMO.

You're right, VRap. If there's anything Yugioh did fairly well, it was the introduction of the ultimate villain near the end instead of constant upgrades and the same villain evolving (not very well) throughout the entire series.
Takahashi was doing that in the beginning as I recall. She even had Sesshoumaru as the villain there at first, developing his character the best out of ALL of them in my opinion (until the abomination that was chapter 518, that is). Kouga was even somewhat of a pseudo-villain in those early chapters, or at least a rival for Inuyasha to rag on.
I would have liked to see more of that. Villains turning into allies, and that sort of thing....

I think....after about 400 chapters of Naraku, it would have been a let-down to have a new villain. If he had been eliminated in say, 100 or so chapters, then yes. But having him around so long, he definitely needs to stay the main villain.
Maybe RT has a hard time with villains. They're not easy to write, at least not for people like me. Most of RT's work up till now has been more comedy than anything else, something not quite conducive to honing your evil instincts.
