Well, technically my Mom got a new horse, since she paid for her, but our horses belong to both of us. I paid for one and a half of our horses, she paid for one and a half, so the three belong to both of us.
Her name is Cinder, she is a black and white Spotted Saddle Horse, and she's a complete cuddlebug!!! I love her already, and my other two horses welcomed her into the family with no fights or anything. My mare even let Cinder eat out of her grain bucket, which I've never seen horses do that before. They're already BFFs. Ha ha ha.

Congrats. I wish I had a horse, but I can't exactly keep one until I get a place with at least... what is it, an acre?
jadehorse77
At least one acre of GOOD green grass per horse minimum. But I've known people keep horses on land with no grass and just feed them hay all year long. I feed hay in the winter, and grain all year long. In the spring and summer though, most of their consumption is the grass.
They're definitely worth the effort though!

coolio, you got a horse!

yeah, if you can give us pictures of the horse, please do so.

The black and white one up top is the new one, the red and white one I've had since 2000, and the red one I've had since 1993. The red and white is the only boy, I think he likes having two girlfriends!
And if you'll notice the little stowaway on the last picture, he was born a few weeks ago to our barn cat!

cowboy kitty!
jadehorse77
You might have just named him Vrap! I've been calling him Cheetah, since he has spots (really unusual, I've never seen a domestic cat with spots)....but his name might just be Cowboy.
jiggly
nice vrap.lol
you named your first horse.
VRaptorX
I think I named the cat actually. But really, Wht you were calling it (not sure if him or her) before fit fine as well.
jadehorse77
Cheetah? Yeah, he looks a little like a cheetah. Somehow, that's not exactly suiting him though. His mama's name is Pumpkin. I was trying to think of something to go with her name....like Squash or Acorn or something, but it's not right. I'll have to try out Cowboy for a while, see if he likes it.
Back to the horses though....the new horse, Cinder, likes to chase the geese away from the pond. She chases them until they fly away honking at her.

lol

My boss trains horses for a... semi-living. She even told me what kind of horse I should ride, personality and build-wise.
