anyone here notice that we really are having a lack of games one could really call classics? I mean...we have god games now but not many that we can say will stand teh test of time and be just as good as games 20 years later.
NES we had Mario 3, Metroid, Zelda, Kirby, Kid Icarus, Arkanoid, Double Dragons, Tetris
Genesis and it's addons had Sonic 3&Knuckles, Sonic CD, Vectorman, Earthworm Jim, Gunstar Heroes, Mortal Kombat 2, Street Fighter 2, Virtua Fighter
SNES had Out of this world, Mario World, Super Metroid, Link to the Past, Final Fantasy 6, Donkey Kong Country, Killer Instinct
PS1 had Metal Gear Solid, Circle of the Moon (not including FF7. That one did not stand test of time and one could argue it was average to begin with)
N64 had Smash Bros, Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Banjo Kazooie, Starfox 64, Pokemon (technically gameboy but you could play it on N64)
PS2 had Ico, Shadow of the Collossus, Okami
GCN had Metroid Prime, F-Zero GX, Beyond Good and Evil, Eternal Darkness, RE4
and currently this gen has Mario Galaxy, The Orange Box
anyone notice we are getting less and less each gen? Not to mention that the systems that had more were also out at the same time. It's like the gaming industry has lost it's quality due to over saturation and popularity. people are more interested in getting sales than quality now.
