I just thought this one up since Delaware has postponed a plan to have a wind farm off on the coast. I mean come on....Denmark is 20% from wind farms and they are fine but nope....we are not gonna do a damn thing until we are 100% out of whatever before we finally put in that wind farm 10 years currently into planning already.
And Social Security...well...the Dems and the Reps both have plans that they debate against eachother with that....well were already tried by some countries in Europe and failed. Shouldn't that be a cue to skip those proposals and just go to the one that worked out for em (individual communities supporting their own community and not any agency involved.)?
It just seems liek Europe is so far ahead of us in many things that we are debating about right now....but we don't have the sense to just copy them. Instead we use the things they proved didn't work. It just seems pointless; like politicians really don't care or are too egotistical to take advice from other countries with proven ideas. It's like if we were to suddenly go back and claim the world is flat again. _________________

Personally, I expect Europe to be ahead of us in many ways, given that they're a much older civilization who has been experimenting extensively to get where they are today. Our government is much younger than those they have, and so they have the experience and the street smarts to know what works and what doesn't. But don't let that fool you; they're still groping through the dark on some issues, but on the whole, they're much more advaced because of the years under their belts.
As for us not just copying them... we have our pride. I mean, we broke away from the British because we didn't think they did things right, so we can't just turn around and say "well, what you do works, so we're just going to jump on the bandwagon". As Americans, we have to make sure that we have the thick skulls to back it up. That means no help from anyone else. Remember our shortage of funds in the Katrina disaster? Several countries sent thousands of dollars in aid for us, adding up to several million (couldn't give you the exact numbers), and we wouldn't use it because we were too ashamed.
Well, you know, the Catholics are completely right. Pride will kill you.
