if you think about it...crossover hits only go one way. japanese games can make it big in USA but USA games never do well in japan.

Japan crossover hits: Nintendo games, Capcom games, Konami games, RPGs, weird games, etc

USA crossover hits:....um GTA sold 300,000 copies in japan compared to 15 million in USA. that's the best we got.

Well, Vraps. This is how the wise ol' Korean see things about these "Xover" hits.

USA games never do well in Japan because...well...they usually have mindless killing or even worse graphics than Japanese games themselves. There usually is NO replay value in American-made games the plotlines always tend to be VERY cliched and boring. Take Halo for example. The first game was GREAT and all. But Bungie realized this, "Hey! We can just sell out and make this game as crap as it can be, and STILL make money because it is Halo." So they made the AI scripted and storyline worth as much as a dead goldfish in water, yet they still sold a LOT more in US because "it was Halo". All flash and no bang. Complete FAIL.

Japanese games are smarter in my opinion. They use varied storylines and combine excellent graphics all the while giving more replay value to a gamer. Bad thing is, it can go either way from "running out of funding", as what the Xenosaga series unfortunately did, to "selling out", like what Square's Kingdom Hearts did in it's...er, third game?.

Then there IS the option of Korean MMOs... lulz ^^ Pentavision FTW!!!

you know Kim....Japan suppossibly is looking more towards Korean music instead of USA music now. So maybe that little hatred the two countries have for eachother is getting a bit smaller? Gotta admit....basically everyone there now wasn't alive in WW2 and was not responcible for it.

Yeah...but still, I just wish that more international recognition for Japan's war crimes. I suppose that Korea and China realized that the Americans (and to a lesser extent, the EU) are NOT going to listen at all and just gave up. Sad

All the while, the Nazis are STILL being condemned for the Holocaust. How fucking ironic... Rolling Eyes

Ah well...it's not like Japan's gonna pop up with a nuke anytime soon anyways...

Korean music has been popular in Japan for quite a time now. It's because of Korea's "Hallryu", which strangely...hasn't reached the US...

YET! WAHAHAHAHA!!! >:3c

No USA knows what we did wrong. Every week there is some sort of conspiracy story on the history channel about how we knew Pearl harbor would be attacked or how japan was trying to surrender but we wouldn't let them so we could show our nuke to the russians and go "we did it first" thus starting the arms race, so on and so forth. Thing is....only half the country will admit it. The Bible belt super-conservatives that think god made 9/11 happen because of gays will refuse to admit the government does anything wrong.

or better yet, think of Vietnam. Whenever something goes wrong in this...."war" we just get a bunch of people saying "remember Vietnam and how wrong our government was with that?" Our failures in fact have pretty much become an everyday discussion.

Yes, we all pretty much know the USA is dumb when it comes to... everything.

But yes, back to games.... I recall a really awesome free MMORPG that came from Korea that I was REALLY into. Unfortunately it dropped off the face of the planet. Name was Ferentus? Anyone hear of it?

But you have to PAY for WoW, and there are plenty of free games that are just as good, if not better. I've gotten into one recently called Rappelz, and there are plenty of them advertising right at the top of the forum everyday.
