I've noticed latly a bunch of stuff seems to be completly against the way the characters normally behave, contradict so much character development or just seems completly thrown in last minute. in your oppinion is RT just sacrificing plot and/or whatever she originally planned?
I think it's possible
Sesshy's arm back after the whole "I'm better without it"
Rin's revival after Sesshy failed
Kohaku's revival
Inu's magical 100% getting over Kikyou to almost kissing Kagome in 2 days
IMO all these things seem to be complete opposites of what logically would happen judging by the patterns in the manga's past. So unless RT is really rushing this and skipping a bunch of the slow/realistic changes, I'd say she's just doing whatever the majority says so to not piss many off.
Personally I hate it when people do that. it just seems like getting ripped off of stuff that could be great. I don't care if 90% hates the stuff (even me) but give us the better quality, not the "safe" stuff. *looks at S Cry Ed* _________________
In three of those four situations, I believe that RT is revealing the benefits of having people in your life to depend on. Her constant theme in this manga and in her other works is "You are not alone." Rin was saved because of Sess-Mom. It reveals how even if you screw up, it's nice to have people like parents that can bail you out. With Sesshy getting an arm back, it was like a reward for doing the right thing. As long as he was whining about it, he didn't deserve it. But when he proved himself able to face it, he was rewarded. Kohaku's revival...again, you are not alone. By having Kikyou care for him, because he stayed with her and developed a friendship with her, she chose to save him over her own vengeance. That's something that really really good friends do for each other. It makes Kikyou a better person for it, and it makes Kohaku all the more determined to live so that her sacrifice wasn't in vain.
By having Inuyasha "get over" Kikyou....do you REALLY think that? I don't buy it for a minute that he is 100% "over" her. I don't think he ever will be. I just think that with her final "death" that he was able to move on, something that he should have done long before that, but was unable to because he still felt like he had to protect her. I think that when she died, the pressure was off and he felt like he could allow himself to move on. _________________ It's just four more miles. Everybody smile!

I agree. Kikyou will always have a place in Inuyasha's heart, and he had fallen in love with Kagome LONG before Kikyou died (again). He was just a little awkward between the two being there at once. It's not as if he's just abandoning the memory of Kikyou altogether. Would you be more satisfied if Inuyasha turned all emo and depressed, never to be happy again, because he couldn't have Kikyou? That would be LESS realistic than what happened then, in my eyes.
And I sort of see where you're coming from with all the reincarnations and the blatant disregard for the meaning of death (I mean, what kind of impact does a death have when the person is resurrected two seconds later?). However, Rin's revival is a testament to how sympathetic Sesshoumaru's mother was to his situation, and even more so to the bond she saw between the two of them. Honestly, he was willing to go to Hell and back to get her. If she hadn't been resurrected, Sesshoumaru may have retreated back into a shell and might never have been able to feel for anyone ever again, given his experience with those emotions of compassion.
Not to mention, Kohaku was vital to Sango's mental health for the final battle. She likely wouldn't have been much in the mood to live and fight in the final battle after Kohaku died. That would just weaken the forces. More importantly, though, it shows where Kikyou's priorities are. She cares more about life than the death of her enemy, which just makes her more of an incredible character to my eyes.
As for Sesshoumaru's arm... well, I agree with you VRap. In fact, I don't think I'll ever be able to get over that blow. That was just bad writing, and it demeaned Sesshoumaru's disability. But, you know, sometimes a publisher will pressure the manga-ka to write in little things to please the fans and keep interest high so that they can continue to sell the manga and magazine. That's how it works sometimes. _________________
OK...bad wording on the Kikyou thing. I'm just saying remember the other times Kikyou "died" and Inu always went searching for her and abandoning the group? it took him a lot longer to get over the emo phase. This time, there was one sub-arc and then it was over. And that arc ended without Inu answering Kagome's question. You'd think he'd answer it later when he's a little elss emo but nope. There was no gradual change it was just a sudden 180 _________________

I disagree. He wasn't in an "emo" phase all those times. He was in an "I still have hope that she's alive" phase, because he didn't actually SEE her die. Inuyasha was all about protecting her makeshift life because he thought he owed her that much. Not to say he didn't love her, because he did. In fact, he went right back to being emo in this last chapter about Kikyou. He lamented the fact that he couldn't save her, along with Kohaku. That shows that he's NOT over her death. _________________
Exactly Lys, when Kikyou finally "died", he saw her die, and he knew that there was nothing more he could do. _________________ It's just four more miles. Everybody smile!

But it's still acknowledging her death, which is much more than you're CLAIMING he's doing. The way you've been saying things, from your description he should be saying "Kikyou who?" when he's actually not over her death at all.
