god knows! Harry Potter will start becoming a bit cheaper soon, though. At least I hope. _________________ "I became insane with long intervals of horrible sanity."- Edgar Allan Poe
LOL I see that reading manga volumes in a bookstore but not buying them is a common idea. ^.^ And I got mine at Walmart, first day, for a good price. The thing is that it was in Hawaii since I was on vacation when it came out. I made my mom allow me to get it since I was driving her crazy.
Yeah mom, I need to know if putting my trust in Snape was a good idea or not. LOL. I can see where saying stuff repeatidly like that would drive someone to insanity. _________________ "I became insane with long intervals of horrible sanity."- Edgar Allan Poe

Bah! I knew that Snape was on Dumbledore's side from the fifth book (before then he was still a favorite of mine, but I wasn't sure whether or not he could be counted as a good guy). It seemed to me that he was in love with Lily from that memory Harry saw, so I stuck with the idea.
Of course, he still didn't turn out to be a likable character... Likable for me because he was easy to mock, but I'm sure that if I were to actually face someone like him, I'd be absolutely terrified. _________________
Well, I think he was a good guy with a terrible atitude towards life. Very insecure due to his past and bitter, as well, but not a bad guy. _________________ "I became insane with long intervals of horrible sanity."- Edgar Allan Poe
Yeah, I think for him it was a defense mechanism. *Hugs Sev* I still love him though^^ _________________ "I became insane with long intervals of horrible sanity."- Edgar Allan Poe

Oh gods, that just reminded me of those Potter Puppet Pals Productions (nice alliteration, huh?). "Have you hugged your Snape today?" great comedy. If you haven't seen these little flash movies, look them up! _________________
LOL Yeah, sounds like something I should look up. But Snape is a perfect example of someone who was tortured at home and bullied in school and then as he gets older due to his insecuritues he becomes a bully. _________________ "I became insane with long intervals of horrible sanity."- Edgar Allan Poe

Well, we humans have a nasty tendency to become what we hate under the pretenses of defeating it. Besides this, we also tend to take to what we know. Since all Snape knew was bullying (with the exception of Lily, until they discontinued being friends) that was likely all he understood.
Of course, we see instances during the books where that doesn't exactly hold true, because Harry grew up an orphan like Voldemort and disliked severely for the first ten years of his life, and he didn't turn out remotely like Voldemort or Snape, so I suppose there's something to be said for that.
