Reincarnation doesn't necessarily go in a linear timeline. Kikyou and Midoriko could be reincarnations of the more powerful soul of Kagome, even though Kagome is the future. Past people can be reincarnations of future people.
However, regardless, Kikyou and Kagome are essentially the same thing.
Furthermore, it's the jewel of four souls, and it has always had light and dark in it, just like human souls, just like even youkai souls. There has always been a light in it, even before Kikyou and Kagome. It is just influenced by them, not necessarily "created" by them.
