There's absolutely nothing wrong with patriotism. I dare say that if the US had a little more patriotism then we'd be finished and out of Iraq with success. There just becomes a problem when the indoctrination under the label of "culture" threatens to take away a person's free will....and they give it up willingly because of pride.
I'm reading a fascinating book about mind control in Oriental cultures and governments (I say oriental because it includes India, Pakistan, etc...as well as 'Asian'). European and American governments learned from the oriental styles, and so on and so on. It's really amazing how much people are willing to believe in the name of culture, based on mind control. There's nothing wrong with standing up for your country, but at the same time, giving up one's freedoms is problematic....you get unrest and despair at the level of the working class, and the system crumbles. The bigwigs in power get what they want at the expense of the people. It's really sad.
At the end of the day, it's so funny to see how very much alike people are, all over the world. As much as people desperately claim to be different and 'special', they're really not. _________________ It's just four more miles. Everybody smile!
Yeah, that is where the lines blur. But I seriously doubt culture is used for "political" indoctrinatizion.
US patriotism...uhm...to be honest... ranting here.
I'm sick of this so-called "USA!" patriotism shit. For fucking serious. The people are completely brainwashed on a national level. Most aren't even informed of the world's problems and the ones who are usually want violence against somebody simply because they have a different government from the US. Need I remind what you guys did in Latin America? Chile is a GREAT example. Brazil next.
Oh and the US isn't a democracy. Never was and never will. I'm on a socialist forum and pretty much all the members agree the US ain't a democracy. As for American people themselves...
Most are raised to be "exceptional" compared to the other world out there. Great leaders we are, huh?
But then again, the "democratic" modern government we have has been in power for over 200 years. As for others...what? Less than 50?
At least China holds strong to their culture rather than throw it all away for so-called "freedom"...
At least, the way America defines it. _________________
technically i think usa is labelled as a republic.
The US is considered a "republic" in name but "we are essentially a market state, of a bureaucratic nature, negated over by minor concerns over religion and..."
I forgot the rest. XD But it's from George Orwell's brilliant novel "1984". I'm sure you know the rest.
The US is not only a police state to the public, ignoring the needs of the people on a small scale (like our recession and high healthcare costs), but they (under the cover of the UN) are a "benevolent" police force as well. _________________

All I know is I'm hoping beyond all hope that I don't have to skip a border after this next election. I'm betting anything on a "witchhunt" in some way shape or form from either party. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but it seems to me that the last few years are just the beginning of a large pile of shit. _________________
I'm a bit worried if McCain gets in. If Hillary gets in...well I won't be happy but I won't have to worry about the constitution getting destroyed and replaced with a bible. As for Obama....I hope he wins. He seems like a politician who actually wants to help people.
And Kim....mind going a little.....less on the USA hate? You can still say your mind but a nicer word selection would be appreciated. _________________
What I said is basically true on a large scale more or less. And a nicer word selection?
Tell that to the millions of ignorant Americans who want to see any country blown off the face of the Earth as soon as the government labels them as an "enemy".
McCain can never be president. He's just too old to lead. Hillary is center-right, she'll definitely exploit the normal people (meaning middle class us) under the cover of "universal healthcare" or some bull like that.
Obama...geez. He does seem like the best one out of all. But with all this "Obama is intent on destroying the US" propaganda by Hillary, it's hurting his popularity a lot.
It's so funny on just how misled Americans are...some world leaders we are, eh? _________________
But the question is "just how many do believe it"?
In other news, I hope Obama can get the canditacy (or however you spell it). He actually seems to know what he's doing, unlike the rest of the others who put the blame on others.
I suppose Ron Pual was a good option too but...I don't know much about him. That and he dropped out. _________________

Ron Paul was an okay option, but the he had education at the top of the list of governmental funding he would cut. I happen to think the education systen sucks royally in this country, so I wouldn't be supporting that at all.
Obama DOES seem the best bet, and with all us liberal hippies out in the Colorado Rockies, you know he's not going to lose ALL the votes because Hillary can't shut up. We like him out here. But, again, votes in Colorado aren't very high on anyone's list of priorities....
